How a Signage Project Comes Together
Most projects move through the same handful of stages, whether it's a single retractable banner or a full storefront refresh. Knowing what happens at each step helps your files land press-ready and keeps the timeline tight.
Consultation & Spec
We confirm where the sign will live, how it mounts, and how far away it is read. Those answers drive the substrate, finish, and whether the graphic needs lamination or wind slits.
Artwork & File Prep
Send a vector PDF, EPS, or AI file built to scale, or a high-resolution raster at 100 to 150 DPI at final size. We outline fonts, set CMYK, and add bleed before anything reaches the printer.
Proof & Color
You approve a digital proof, and for brand-critical work we run a printed proof on the actual material. Our G7-calibrated workflow keeps color matched across reprints.
Print & Finish
Graphics print on UV and latex flatbed and roll machines, then move to finishing for laminating, contour cutting, grommets, hemming, or rigid mounting, all under one roof.
Delivery & Install
We ship, hand off for pickup, or send a licensed and insured crew to install anywhere in NYC, handling window film, wraps, and building graphics on site.
Reorders & Rollouts
Your files stay on record, so reprints and multi-location rollouts match the original exactly. Reorders skip setup and turn around faster than a first run.
Choosing the Right Material & Finish
The single biggest factor in how a sign looks and lasts is the substrate. Indoor pieces that only need to look sharp for an event, like posters and presentation boards, do well on foam board or Gatorboard at a low cost. Signage that has to survive weather, sun, and handling belongs on heavy banner vinyl or laminated cast film. For anything mounted to a curved or riveted surface, such as a vehicle or a textured wall, conformable cast vinyl is the right call because it stretches into place without lifting.
Finishing decides durability and presentation. A gloss laminate boosts color saturation and protects against scuffs and UV, while a matte laminate cuts glare for signage under bright store lighting. Outdoor banners get hemmed edges and grommets, or pole pockets when they hang from a frame, and large mesh banners are vented so wind passes through instead of tearing the material. Tell us where the piece will live and how long it needs to last, and we'll spec a build that fits the job and the budget.

Press-ready PDF, EPS, or AI files are preferred, with TIFF and high-resolution JPG accepted for photographic work. Build artwork at full or half scale and aim for 100 to 150 DPI at final size for large format, since signage is viewed from a distance. Convert text to outlines, set all colors to CMYK, and include at least a quarter-inch of bleed.
Every piece is printed in full CMYK, and our presses are G7-calibrated for consistent, predictable color across runs and reprints. Provide your brand build values or a reference and we will match them as closely as the substrate and ink allow. Matte vinyl, gloss film, and fabric each absorb ink differently, so we recommend a proof on the actual material for critical brand work.
It depends on the material and ink. UV-cured and latex inks on laminated cast vinyl typically hold up for three to five years outdoors, while economy banner vinyl is rated for one to two seasons. Laminating outdoor graphics adds abrasion and UV protection and noticeably extends lifespan in direct sun.
Calendered vinyl is thicker and more economical, well suited to flat banners and short-term flat surfaces. Cast vinyl is thinner, more conformable, and dimensionally stable, which makes it the right choice for vehicle wraps and curved or riveted surfaces where the film has to stretch without lifting.
Many storefront, scaffolding, and building-mounted signs in New York City require a Department of Buildings permit, and rules vary by district. We can advise on what your project likely needs and assist with the documentation, though final approval rests with the city and any landlord requirements.
Yes. We produce matched signage and vehicle graphics in batches so branding stays consistent across every storefront or vehicle, and we can stage deliveries and installations by location to fit a phased rollout.
We are a family-owned NYC printer founded in 2009, running offset, digital, large format, and finishing entirely in-house. Keeping every step under one roof means tighter color control, faster turnaround, and a single point of contact from proof through installation.
